4 reasons to get an MRI after the 4th of July
Holiday weekends are always a ton of fun and games, especially the 4th of July. The 4th of July is like every American’s birthday, but multiplied by ten. Everyone has a ball on the 4th of July whether it’s attending a parade, grilling out at a barbecue, lighting fireworks, or hitting the beach, there are celebrations all around. Sometimes the 4th can get a little too rowdy for some people. Celebrations go later in the night, too many burgers are eaten, and maybe a few too many brews have been drunk. Anyway you put it, some Americans are really proud to be American on the 4th, that’s why lots of people should schedule their MRI appointment for after the patriotic holiday. You may be asking yourself, “why would I need an MRI after the 4th?”, at open MRI of Carlsbad we are asking ourselves why not.
1.) You got in an accident with fireworks
Most people don’t know but 4th of July is actually one of the most dangerous holidays in America. Why? Fireworks. These explosive, dazzling lights are amazing to watch in the sky. They are commonly used at night in big displays seen throughout various towns. However, fireworks can be bought and lit off in a local neighborhood which can be a recipe for disaster for some. Some partyers have a little too much confidence in themselves and in turn knock themselves out from the bang of the fireworks. Usually when this happens people have back pain and can barely hear anything. This makes a perfect candidate to get an MRI!
2.) You ate too much food
Since it’s America’s birthday, most people just act like it’s their own birthday as well. This mentality can be dangerous for people at barbecues or parties where the food is never ending. I don’t know about you, but on 4th of July it’s custom for me to eat as much food as I can. And why not eat as much food as you can? Problem is the next day you look like you are either pregnant or are growing a massive food baby. If you aren’t sure what it is that has inhabited your stomach come and get an MRI, we can help you figure out what exactly you ate yesterday.
3.) You didn’t wear sunscreen
You see it happen every year. Some idiot lays out in the sun all day without sunscreen and turns out as red as the stripes on the American flag. You crack jokes at them and swear that will never be you. Well, it happened to you. We all understand you just wanted a nice tan and got too confident in your white skin thinking that your skin would never turn on you. After the 4th, come in and get an MRI it will show you exactly the parts of your skin that was damaged and how you can help reverse it.
4.) You had too much to drink
This ties in again to the fact that since it is America’s birthday everyone parties like it’s their own. No barbecue is complete without a stocked cooler (or two), and an endless day of drinking a variety of alcohol. It happens! However, with a drunken party comes a confidence booster. You suddenly think you can jump from the roof into the pool, or you can beat someone wrestling. We don’t want to discourage any fun from happening on the 4th, but we do encourage safety. Therefore, if you wake up on July 5th with an ankle that is hurting or a torn muscle, come in for an MRI and get it checked out before it gets any worse.
We encourage everyone to have a safe and happy 4th of July! If any of these misfortunes happen to you on Monday, don’t be afraid to give us a call on the 5th! Happy birthday America!
